One Direction is an amazing band. Lady Gaga is a hermaphrodite. Kanye West is straight.

The world is full of lies and, frankly, OXHEART’s had enough. We want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help us Goddess. And we want it bursting forth from the mouths of some of New York’s most amazing writers. And we want to share it with you.

Join us on February 3, 2014 for “OXHEART Tells the Truth,” a non-fiction reading series at Niagara in Manhattan’s East Village (112 Avenue A at 7th St). The event is FREE, starts at 8pm, and will feature the unbelievable talents of:

She blogs about the role beauty plays in women’s lives at The Beheld (also syndicated at The New Inquiry), and is writing a book on the same, to be published by Simon & Schuster in 2015.

Nona Willis Aronowitz: Nona Willis Aronowitz is a reporter for NBC News Digital. She has written anywhere from the Atlantic and the Washington Post to Tablet and Rookie.
